| TALKING TO THE HAND is about shape-change interaction |
| Talking to the hand builds upon three external ideas, affordance, habituality and the periphery, supporting three design proposals:
The first is a 'body language' based on the concept of affordances. Digital artifacts adopting informative postures through shape change, provide a user deeper understanding of their status.
The second is a body-oriented interaction. Intangible information is greatly familiarized through multiple sensation of morphing occurrences on surfaces embedded in digital objects.
The third is a peripheral experience. Virtual objects acting in the physical environment through shape shifting, address both the center and the periphery of people's awareness, extending their perceptual capacity. |
