My thesis Talking to The Hand explores the opportunities for new interactive experiences emerging from shape shifting technologies.
Morphing cube explored how could changing affordances reveal system statuses to a user.
Observing blind-folded people read through touch animated shapes,
inspired the TactoPhone in-the-pocket, on-the-go interaction
& InfoTerrain 1 suggested that touching a morphing surface can inform, parallel to sight, web surfing.
InSync an external hard drive prototype demonstrated a shape-change interaction with a backup utility,
and InfoTerrain 2 a morphing mouse prototype, provided the experience of buttons appearing when needed to inform and perform. |
