| IN SYNC is an external hard drive that changes shape... |

One of 'Talking to the Hand' (my thesis) prototypes, InSync is an objet that uses a "body language" to interact, building on the way we interpret gestures & read affordances from the environment.
InSync communicates with a user through shape change, by adopting an informative posture to indicate the validity of a backup.
It adds on the Morphing cube earlier concept - conveying how much a backup is synchronized through misalignment of the drive's shape - by setting a bilateral interaction, that dispenses shape-change as feedback & receives shape-change as input.
InSync was mentioned online on engadget, we-make-money-not-art and others. |
